Biography
Sarah Grundy is a Melbourne–based artist specialising in realistic portraiture and bright, colourful acrylic paintings.
One of Sarah’s earliest memories is her kindergarten teacher telling her mum that she had been sitting there painting all day. Not much changed in High School, when Sarah could be found in her room painting and creating until late at night. After school she has had a varied career ranging from teaching to psychology studies to disability work. However, something has always pulled her back to art.
In 2014, Sarah sold her first commissioned portrait whilst working full time as a teacher. Six years on, she has sold hundreds of pet and people portraits. Sarah now spends the majority of her time in the studio. She has now expanded the business to selling both custom and ready-made acrylic paintings, as well as custom charcoal and pencil portraits. She also has experience in painting both indoor and outdoor murals.
In 2022, her painting Alfred Nicholas Gardens was a finalist in the Harden Art Prize. Sarah endeavors to enter more competitions in the coming year.
